
Grzegorz Chwaliński (b. 2000) is a versatile Polish percussionist recognized for his expressive performances across solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Prof. Gert Mortensen and later earned his master’s degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, where he continues postgraduate studies under Prof. Marta Klimasara and Prof. Klaus Dreher.
He has received numerous awards and distinctions and has been a laureate of renowned international competitions, including the Majaoja International Percussion Competition (Finland), the International Percussion Competition
Luxembourg, and the IPEA International Percussion Competition (Shanghai). He was also a recipient of the Young Poland scholarship and the DAAD Award for Outstanding Achievement.
Grzegorz was selected as a soloist for the World Percussion Group and was a Young Artist of Kolberg Percussion. In the 2023/24 season, he joined the prestigious International Ensemble Modern Akademie in Frankfurt. He has also collaborated with IRCAM Paris, working on contemporary music projects that bridge performance and technology.
He has performed in major venues such as Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Shanghai Opera, and the Essen Philharmonic, as well as with leading ensembles including Ensemble Modern, Warsaw Philharmonic, CopenhagenPhil, Stuttgart State Opera, and the Warsaw Chamber Opera. Chwaliński is known for blending technical mastery with emotional depth, making him one of the most promising percussionists of his generation.
